Reinvented Bulb isn’t a Bulb: It’s an LED Light Source [LEDs]
"The lightbulb is dead. Long live CFL!" may be the chant sounding around the world as we switch to the energy-efficient fluorescent lighting, but this has its own problems—something the LED bulb from Frog Design is intended to fix. It's arguable the CFLs are bad for the environment, with plastic parts, electronics and mercury inside, and they emit a harsh light and can't be dimmed. LEDs are more efficient, potentially longer lasting, are dimmable and need less components. Frog has decided that to get consumers to adopt LEDs, and for ease of use, it's simplest to package them in a traditional glass enclosure, complete with screw-fit contacts. It's a design I've secretly thought about for ages: making it into a real product has just one difficulty… bright enough, white enough, long-lasting diffuse LEDs. [Yanko Design]
2015 concept BMW certainly is futuristic

What are cars going to look like in the year 2015? Well, I’m guessing they’re going to look kind of like our cars to day, but maybe a touch more aerodynamic. But hey, what do I know? When asked the same question, Transportation Design students at Turin-based IED (istituto Europeo di Design) came up with something quite a bit different.
The concept design for BMW they came up with looks like it belongs in 2115, not 2015. The BMW ZX-6 Concept by Jai Ho Yoo and Lukas Vanek is full of crazy curves and lines, and while yes, it is more aerodynamic, I’m not sure just how practical it is. But hey, maybe by 2015 we won’t care about practical cars, instead purchasing our vehicles based solely on how crazy they look. If so, this one is a definite winner.
Plica dual touchscreen concept phone

Plica literally means folding of a body part, and that’s the concept used in this namesake phone. It features 2 screens where one side is used as a touch screen keyboard and the other as a touch monitor. The fun doesn’t end here; apparently you can view a single web page or image across both the screens. A big touch screen gives more surface area to use, as the keys are not so cramped.
Remember we had reported earlier that users of the iPhone often complained that their manicured long nails prevented them from using the phone properly. The Plica is like packing in a mini laptop into a mobile phone. For better design integrity, the USB and headphone ports have been placed in the double hinge. Looks like designer James Piatt has a winner in his hands
