Dokugan GID Blue

Hmm…this looks familiar!  It might be because we showed you the green version of the GID Dokugan a few days ago.  This Tokyocube exclusive version of the BLObPUS produced kaiju vinyl is limited to a run of 25 pieces.   I actually prefer this colorway.  Either way, it'll run you the same as the green version – $74 (plus S&H).

Patch Together's Product On Demand

Superbunny_can1

Patch Together has just rolled out a new feature they are calling Product On Demand.  What happens is that people can pre-order a design and then Patch Together will set a production run quantity depending on if there is enough demand.  As soon as the quantity is met, they will begin production.  So these will be smaller runs, but the artist doesn't have to win Patch Together's competition in order to see their design produced

This might be a leap of faith for some collectors.  In the current Product On Demand offerings, you'll just see what the design is (no actual product).  So if you like the 3D rendering or the artist sketch, you can pre-order it (without having your credit card charged).  I think this is a cool idea, but I know there will be some issues since the company has yet to release any actual product yet.

Carrot Shake Jake

Jake_3ears

Gary Ham has released his self produced vinyl
toy – Carrot Shake Jake.  Jake is a limited edition of 500 pieces and stands at 6" tall (with his straight
ears).  Those ears detach as he comes with an extra set of ears for you to mix and match (straight and bent).  The vinyl will run $32 plus $7S&H in the U.S and $20 S&H outside of the US.  And you can pick him up at Gary Ham's online shop.

Misinformation Kills Children

Toys_should_not_kill_children

Or something like that.  Here's a silly story that was posted on The Consumerist in December of 2007.  Actually, it's not silly.  It talks about how there were 22 deaths and over 200,000 injuries attributed to toys in 2006.  Serious stuff, especially for parents of young kids.

However, they used the above image (actually entitled toys_should_not_kill_children.jpg) as a part of the article.  Never do they say a Dunny or a Sun-Min + David toy was responsible for killing a child.  But if you put that photo next to an article about toys killing kids, one would only assume that this toy is responsible for some bodily harm to a child.  But it's not!

Maybe the editor liked the look of the toy…?  But it's essentially the same as writing an article about a child molester and then posting a photo of a random guy you found on the internet (renaming that photo evil_molester.jpg) without concern for his reputation.

If you’re angered, outraged, disappointed in these toys being incorrectly associated with injuring kids…shoot chris@consumerist.com an email and ask him to replace or delete the photo.

Yeti Guy (and Girl) by nevermore

3yeti_pinkstore

After having a little apprehension about what Patch Together was setting out to do, I'm fairly pleased with the products they're going to be releasing.  The Yeti Guy (brown and white) and Yeti Girl (pink) are the three colorways that will be made available from artist nevermore.  They'll be limited to a run of 300 pieces each.  I love these!

DGPH Socks!
