Tonight, Saturday August 23rd is the opening reception for the Tribute to Gygax group exhibition.  Over 30 artists have participated in this show honoring the late Gary Gygax, inventor of the game Dungeons and Dragons. The reception begins at 7PM and the exhibition runs from August 23rd through September 27th.  You can see great pieces like the pictured "Booger" the Tree Orc by Jared Deal.

Mitch O’Connell will be at The Ghetto on Thursday, September 4th his first show in Japan.   The Ghetto is located at 1-1-10 Hyakuninchou Shinjyukuku in Tokyo.   So, if you're in the neighborhood, you'll definitely want to make it out for the show.

2 show opens at G1988: LA on August 22nd, with an opening reception taking place from 7PM until 11PM.  We have a sneak-peek at the insane one-of-a-kind
handmade plush by artist Jen Rarey. Fans of Office Space will love the plush Milton, who has his silk tie (with
a stain in the same spot the character has in the film), an
Initech name badge and a removable red stapler (is it a Swingline?).

This plush, along with over 100
other pieces based on classic cult films, will first be displayed at the opening reception, which will be hosted
by Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier (yeah…that’s Jay and Silent Bob). We’re looking forward to the trio of Big Lebowski plushies from Monstery Factory (to be unveiled Friday night).

This August 28th, Magic Pony will be playing host to UK
artist-duo TADO to celebrate the launch of their latest
vinyl figures.   Lily: The Littlest Cannibal marks the release of TADO’s Cannibal Funfair mini figure series and
7" vinyl collectible, produced by Kidrobot. 

A dynamic interplay of
media, the show comprises paintings, drawings and prints, along with
wooden sculpture, installation and plush.

The light bulb-shaped platform toy Ouip’s first custom show – Ouip Loves Artists – will be held at Lab and Gallery delitoys.  Ouip Loves Artists will consist of customs from 25 artists from the fine art, fashion, sports, music and urban street scenes.

The newest custom show at LiFT Designer Toys will be MADL Citizens, where over 40 customizers will work their magic on the 10" tall DIY MAD*L figures.  If you'll be in the Royal Oak area this October, you'll want to check out this custom show.
